Ice Lake is my favorite place to visit in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Not only is the destination beautiful, but so is the journey. This is a hike for the fit, and if your going to go up and back in one day, you better have good shoes or a good horse. There's good places to camp, and it's a good launch off point to climb the Matterhorn, the highest peak in the Eagle Cap. Note: This was a bad day for taking a panorama, and even if that was not the case this picture, or any picture for that matter, wouldn't do it justice.
