This picture of Wallowa Lake was taken on a crystal clear morning in June of 2002. The County had recently improved the location to include a better boat ramp and dock, as well as restrooms, improved parking, and picnic areas. This is a great day use area with protected swimming areas and a nice beach. The lake fireworks on the forth are setup just offshore making this location a favorite. This beautiful vista has changed since a trophy home was built on the grassy hillside below the right side of Chief Joseph Mountain. When will Joseph Oregon protect its true assets?
