WINTERFEST 2011



January 11th -
     Beginning of the Snow Sculpture Contest.  Contact Chuck Garrett of Moonlight Graphics for your entry form!  Winners will be announced at the All You Can Eat Steak Feed on the evening of the 15th.

January 13th-
     Taste of Wallowa County.  An event open to the public which allows local restuarants and breweries to showcase their specialties.
Tickets will be sold for samples of the product each business is offering.  Event will be held at the Joseph Community Center at 6:00pm.  To get your business signed up, contact Nicole Payton at 541-215-3295.

January 14th-
    Tub Races begin at 6pm on 2nd Street next to the Stubborn Mule.

     Following the Tub Races at 7pm  is our 2nd Annual Wallowa County Rail Jam.  A freestyle Ski and Snowboard event open to all ages, with tons of great prizes to win!!
     Then at 8pm is our Polar Bear Run!  Grab your best skibbies and your jogging shoes and try to make it down Main Street with you dignity intact!! For sign ups contact Hilary of Mutiny 541-432-5274

January 15th -
     All U Can Eat Breakfast starting at 7 am and the Joseph Rodeo Grounds Thunder Room.  Breakfast is $8 and includes Pancakes, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy, juice, and coffee.
     Snowmobile Poker Run with Guaranteed $2,200 purse begins at 9 am.
 Purchase your hands at the Thunder Room, the rest of the run is at Salt Creek Summit Snow Park.
     Beginning at 10am is our All Ages Scavenger Hunt, and the In Town Poker Walk starting and endin at the Embers Brew House.
     Also at 10am is our Chili Contest hosted by Syd and Lisa of Chandlers Inn.
     All U Can Eat Steak Feed begins at 4pm.  Dinner includes unlimited hand cut Sirlion, baked potatoes, salad, bread, and more.
     Auction and Raffles begin at 7pm.  Items are donated from our local business and Winterfest Sponsors!
     Dance with Live Music begins at 9pm.  All ages welcome until 10 pm

 

Also this year we will be hosting the 2011 Oregon State Snowmobile Association Convention the following week.  It will be held January 18th-22nd.  We will be offering guided rides on Tuesday thru Friday.
Friday evening we will have a social hour with live entertainment, fun, and games.  Saturday the 22nd there will be OSSA meetings and
seminars, and a dinner to follow.   We will have an auction for the
legal fund along with lots of door prizes, raffles, and games.  Friday and Saturday night there will be a no host bar.
